Where the tax comes from

Compare UAE structures

  • 0% personal income tax
  • No capital gains tax for individuals
  • No inheritance tax
  • Golden & residence visa routes
US citizens & green card holders keep paying US tax in the UAE. The figures already include it. Also keep in mind:
  • The exclusions cover earned income only. Dividends, capital gains and US rental income stay fully taxable.
  • Self-employed Americans still owe 15.3% US self-employment tax (there is no US–UAE social security agreement).
  • Owning a UAE company brings US reporting and anti-deferral rules (GILTI / Subpart F) that can tax profits personally.
  • Your state may still treat you as resident unless you properly break residency.

Your saving only holds if you genuinely stop being tax-resident at home. Enter the days you plan to spend in each country.

UK ties you will still have (Statutory Residence Test, leaver)

The country tie is added automatically if you spend more days in the UK than in the UAE.

GBP

Used to estimate a deemed-sale exit tax. Treat it as an upper bound: thresholds, exemptions and deferrals can reduce it.
